Recently I have been introduced to the programme 'say yes to the dress' and I have to say I am hooked. The programme is centred around bride's choosing their perfect wedding dress in bridal boutiques based in New York and Atlanta. The bride's bring their families along, sometimes including their groom to be, and try on all different dresses made from various Bridal Fabric. They then discuss their thoughts about the different styles and when they are happy with one of the gowns they are asked 'do you say yes to the dress?'. Great viewing for all women who dream what their own wedding dress might be like in the future. Many of the brides on the show have a good idea of what Bridal Fabric they would like their gown to be in and what style they would also like. They give the sales assistants a budget, some have a very hefty budget, and the assistants bring out several dresses that they think may fit their idea of their ideal dress. Most women grow up thinking of what wedding dress they would like to wear on their wedding day however from watching this programme it seems that what may be your ideal dress when you are 7 is not necessarily your ideal dress when you are in your twenties or thirties. Many of the brides try on dresses that they have dreamed of and find that it does not suit them and end up saying 'yes' to something completely different. This happened to my sister last year when she was choosing her own wedding dress. She had an idea that she would like a simple, long floaty gown in chiffon Bridal Fabric for getting married abroad however when it came down to the final decisions she chose a fuller lace dress with a diamante feature in the centre. Have you dreamed of what you wedding dress might be like? What Bridal Fabric and style would you go for?
