All brides-to-be want their wedding days to go perfectly - but with so many things to organise, from the decorations to the meals and the music, everything must run smoothly to ensure complete happiness on the day. A massive part of any wedding is choosing the perfect bridal gown and bridesmaid dresses. Here at Calico Laine, we stock a multitude of different Bridal Fabrics that are perfect for anyone's special day; in today's blog, we'll be talking about a few of them that we recommend to our customers searching for their dream fabrics to incorporate into their own wedding outfits. Duchess Satin – This gorgeous fabric is a customer favourite all year round. There are so many different colours available in our stock, from classic bridal colours such as white, ivory and cream to the more adventurous such as sunflower yellow, cerise and turquoise. It has a stunning matte finish and looks fantastic when made up. Satin Back Crepe – Although this is one of our more lightweight Bridal Fabrics, our satin back crepe has a beautiful flow to it and has the added feature of being reversible; so whether your preference is shiny or matte when it comes to fabrics, you can use either side and be pleased with the results. We also recommend pairing this fabric with a sheer fabric such as a chiffon or organza. Satin Back Dupion – Like the Satin Back Crepe, this lovely fabric is reversible and features an interesting texture due to the slubs in the weave. We have been complimented on our colour range by customers who have been pleasantly surprised to find more unusual colours such as peach and cinnamon available from us. Taffeta – This fabric is always popular and features many different colour choices. It is a great choice for dresses that require a bit of body and flair as it is quite stiff and able to hold its own weight. It is definitely a great option to consider if you are after something a little unusual, as many of our Taffeta shades are actually two-tone colours. Have you used any of these Bridal Fabrics for your own big day? Did you use something else that perhaps we haven’t covered? Let us know on our Facebook page – we love to hear back from our customers!
