When you are planning a wedding ceremony, inspiration for your ideal Bridal Fabrics and perfect style of gown is all around you. For some, you will have been harbouring an image of your ideal wedding dress for decades, possibly since the first time you saw you favourite Disney Princess tie the knot, or when you cried buckets watching Scott and Charlene walk down the aisle to 'Suddenly' back in the 1980s. For others, you may be struggling with finding the perfect balance between modern fashions, childhood fantasy and the myriad of Bridal Fabrics you have seen to create the perfect bridal gown to make you feel stunning on your special day. In the land of TV, weddings can last from anything between minutes, months and years before the inevitable ratings grabbing disaster strikes the happy couple, and whether you are a hopeless romantic or a terrible cynic, there is no doubt that a TV wedding is the perfect way for script writers to entice viewers and win the ratings war. So today, in honour of the upcoming wedding season, we look back over our favourite TV weddings of all time and the beautiful gowns and Bridal Fabrics we have fantasised about since seeing them on the small screen 5. Phoebe - Friends [caption id="attachment_6666" align="alignright" width="153"]phoebes-wedding Phoebe Buffay wore a surprisingly elegant strapless gown for her TV wedding to Mike.[/caption] In the final series of what is possibly the most watched TV sitcom of all time, free thinking Phoebe finally found her prince when she wed Mike Hannigan in a suitably quirky ceremony which took place on the street outside Central Perk during a snowstorm. Viewers may have been expecting a more bohemian look from Phoebe on her big day and were surprised when she opted for a beautifully elegant strapless gown sewn with a gorgeous shade of silver Satin Bridal Fabric paired with a tiara, lariat necklace and waist-length veil to complete Phoebe's princess style bridal outfit. The subtle shade of silver was perfect for a winter wedding and next to Lisa Kudrow's ice cool complexion provided a real "wow"moment when Phoebe took off her floor length coat to reveal the Rani Totman creation. It was not only Phoebe's stunning gown that stole the show but also the gorgeous Michael Kors bridesmaid dresses worn by Phoebe's best friends Monica and Rachel as they accompanied her down the aisle. The two tone bridesmaid dresses with sleeveless gold-accented antique lace tops were perfect against the pastel coloured coats and bright wild flower bouquets. 4. Carrie - Sex and the City Any fashionista worth her salt will have spent much of the past two decades closely observing the fashion icon that is Sarah Jessica Parker and her on-screen alter ego Carrie Bradshaw. SJP as she is known, has been setting trends all over the globe since her debut in the smash hit series in 1998 and has become widely renowned as the queen of fashion so of course, fans were thrilled when Carrie and Big looked set to finally make it down the aisle in the feature length version of the long running TV series and we couldn't wait to see what cutting edge creation Carrie would choose to wed her long term love interest. Sadly, it was not to be a happy ending for Carrie and Big when he stood her up at the altar but luckily for us we still got to see Carrie dressed in her custom made Vivienne Westwood gown. The elaborate creation carried all the hallmarks of a Westwood original and has become enshrined in TV wedding legend. Even though the replica cocktail length gown cost a whopping £4000 it sold out in almost instantly when it was released online. For a budget friendly version of this dress, a replica can be created using a Taffeta Bridal Fabric for the bottom layer paired with a Super Soft Duchess Satin or Satin Back Crepe Bridal Fabric for the top. 3. Grace - Will and Grace [caption id="attachment_6667" align="alignleft" width="225"]grace Grace in her stunning and elegant Vera Wang creation for the 5th season of Will and Grace.[/caption] During the fifth season of the smash hit sitcom, Grace was on the road to her happily ever after with Dr. Leo and the episode Marry Me A Little saw the characters celebrate their union in a traditional Jewish ceremony. Debra Messing as Grace wore a $20,000 Vera Wang gown and whilst the journey to happiness was a bumpy one for Grace and Leo, there is no doubt that the elegant strapless creation will stand the test of time. The episode was watched by over 24.3 million viewers and was the first time a prime time TV show had shown a Jewish character marrying inside the faith. This is the ideal choice of gown for a big, traditional wedding in a large, architectural building as it is beautiful and elegant enough to fill an imposing space but without being at all over the top. To recreate this look you can use a range of Bridal Fabrics including Duchess Satin. The costume designers at HBO chose a stunning subtle shade of gold which complimented Debra's beautiful copper hair and golden complexion. Before the ceremony we see a touching scene between Grace and her best friend Will, played out on the rooftop of the venue showing Grace wearing a gorgeous floor length cloak style white coat over her gown, this is a fantastic idea for winter weddings or outdoor weddings. 2. Charlene - Neighbours In the 523rd episode of the long running Australian soap opera, lovers Scott and Charlene sealed their love in an episode watched by a massive 20 million viewers. Viewers couldn't wait to see what mechanic Charlene would be wearing as she walked down the aisle to her prince charming and they were certainly not left disappointed. In true 80s style, Charlene wore a massive, princess style wedding dress encompassing almost every Bridal Fabric you could think of including Silk, Organza, Taffeta and Chantilly Lace Every little girl of the 80s dreamed of marrying in a huge, frilly creation likes this but with her bubble perm and her husband's questionable mullet this is certainly not a look that many modern brides would wish to create! Even so, this is still possibly our favourite soap wedding of all time and any child of the 80s will remember shedding a tear as Kylie Minogue glided down the aisle to Suddenly by Angry Anderson. 1. Monica - Friends [caption id="attachment_6668" align="alignright" width="240"]monica Monica's simple and romantic look enhanced her natural beauty in a look that has stood the test of time.[/caption] If there was thing that the screenwriters on the set of Friends knew how to do it was a TV wedding! From Carol and Susan's same sex union which was way ahead of it's time to Ross and Rachel's tipsy Las Vegas ceremony, every wedding they staged was to be a sure fire hit with the fans and no Friends wedding would be complete without an element of controversy to get the viewers talking. From serial groom Ross saying the wrong name at his wedding to Emily, to the 'who's the daddy?' conundrum at the wedding of the show's enduring couple Monica and Chandler, each and every Friends wedding was to be not only a barrel of laughs but a touching and emotional event. Best friends, Monica and Chandler tied the knot in a beautifully romantic episode aired in May 2001 which is undoubtedly one of the most popular TV weddings of all time. Portraying the uptight, pedantic Monica; Courtney Cox was beautiful in a minimalist bridal gown designed by House of Bianchi. Showcasing the actress' slender figure the flattering A-Line gown was crafted from a gorgeous Satin Bridal Fabric and paired with minimal accessories and a cathedral length veil. With her raven hair styled in soft, romantic waves the simple look enhanced Courtney's natural beauty and would still look just as chic today as it did back in 2001.
