Calico Laine does not only have a wonderful website where you can buy a huge array of different dressmaking fabrics and haberdashery but we also have a Fabric Shop in both Liscard and Neston on the Wirral which you can visit and find all the things you need for a multitude of projects. One of our best selling ranges in our Liscard store is net curtains even though this is not a dressmaking fabric. There isn't a day that goes by in Liscard when we don't sell net curtains to at least one customer. In our Fabric Shop you can buy a number of chiffons, voiles and muslins to dress a window however our net curtains are always the most popular as they all come ready to hang with a slotted top which means less sewing. Those customers who are not the best at sewing will always choose this option as it makes it a lot easier! Our net curtains are available in a large variety of designs from plain net voiles; to half voile and half lace; to full, heavy lace style nets. No matter what your favoured style is we will have something to fit in with your home interior. Our best selling net however is our manhattan in white. This is a fairly plain net which has a couple of horizontal stripes along the bottom half of the voile net to add some interest. This seems to be popular with the younger generations and those who do not like heavy patterned nets. When you come to our Fabric Shop to buy net curtains it is always best to measure your windows accurately beforehand so that you know what you require. Net curtains come in standard drops (the height of your window) and it may be that your window is not a standard size and therefore you will need to pick the closest drop and possibly alter the size with a little but of sewing. You then need to measure the width of your window which will be the length of fabric that you need. We usually suggest to double the width measurement when you are buying net curtains as this will give you enough fabric to gather them so that they do not sit straight across and will provide more privacy in  your home. As mentioned previously, all of our net curtains come with a slotted top and this allows you to put your nets straight up when you get home. They can be hung on a tension rod, net wire or a net rod depending on what type of window frame you have. We stock all of these items in our Fabric Shop and can always provide you with advice on what type will be suitable for you.
