When it comes to selecting the perfect Bridal Fabrics for your requirements, look no further than our stunning range of materials here at Calico Laine! Today I would like to take a look at some of our best-selling materials within our range of Bridal Fabrics and how they can be incorporated into your Bridal Dressmaking to achieve the results you really want! One of the first kind of materials that is often considered when creating dresses and other such garments is Satin. Our most popular and widely used Satin Bridal Fabric is Duchess Satin. This stunning heavy weight cloth comes in a fantastic range of colours including many new shades that have recently been added to the collection including teal and coral (both fantastic to brighten up any occasion!) Another extremely popular Bridal Fabric that is fast becoming a favourite choice of material for creating modern bridal garments is Taffeta. Taffeta is a great alternative to a traditional Satin Bridal Fabric in that it has a crisp feel to it and is famous for the 'rustling' it makes when worn. Our range of taffeta comes in a fabulous choice of shades, many being two tone and shimmering in different reflective lights. Taffeta is also used for the decoration of venues as an alternative to organza and other materials with a slight stiffness to them...the options really are endless! A great Dressmaking idea that is often used in Bridal Dressmaking is layering materials together.  A great way to do this could be to use one of our more sheer Bridal Fabrics alongside other Bridal Fabrics. A perfect example of this is layering our Chiffon materials over the Satins to give a wide variety of textured and coloured effects! If you have any ideas that you would like to share with us, please do so on our Facebook and Twitter pages (where we often have exciting competitions to enter!)...and feel free to share your thoughts and comments in the box below! Until next time, Calico Laine
