Like any dressmakers, or anybody else keen on fashion, we always have one eye on the red carpets throughout the year, looking to be inspired by the latest celebrity trends and 2014 has seen a whole host of stunning looks. This year, the red carpet has been awash with sumptuous Dress Fabrics, elegant lines and breathtaking designs. One of the most talked about stars this year has been Lupita Nyong'o. Ever since she picked up her Academy Award back in February, Lupita has been a regular on the red carpet and has featured heavily in fashion publications receiving plaudits for her elegant yet edgy style, a perfect example of which was the stunning caped Ralph Lauren creation worn to the Golden Globes which is guaranteed to go down in awards fashion history.
This year metallic Dress Fabrics have been a huge success, worn by some of the world's most renowned fashionistas including Emmy Rossum who delivered a masterclass in how to be bang on trend whilst remaining classically stylish when she wore a stunning Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2014 V-neck gown in a gorgeous shade of bronze at Hammer Museum’s 12th Annual Gala in the Garden, paired with her beautifully understated hair and make up Emmy was elegance personified. Heroes star Hayden Panettiere also rocked the metallic trend when she stole the show at the 2014 Emmy Awards in a stunning Lorena Sarbu silver maternity gown proving that maternity fashion can be just was stylish and exciting as everyday wear. Blake Lively - following her marriage to Ryan Reynolds and subsequent pregnancy announcement, Blake has this year made a triumphant return to the spotlight and has been spotted on red carpets all over the globe wearing a selection of stunning designs from the world's most famous designers. The star of Gossip Girl has been such a fashion hit this year that design houses in every country have been clamouring to dress her and her stylish husband. Ms. Lively has worn so many beautiful designs in 2014 that it has been almost impossible to choose a favourite but the sexy Gucci design she chose for the Cannes Film Festival is definitely up there with the best. The stunning open back gown created from a beautiful silk-chiffon Dress Fabric featured an on-trend geometric neckline and paired with a subtle smoky eye, light pink lips and a sleek ponytail Blake kept the look youthful and fresh setting the bar high for remainder of the famous film festival.

Amal Clooney - 2014 saw one of our favourite bachelors finally settle down when George Clooney tied the knot; the nuptials catapulted beautiful lawyer Amal Almuddin into the spotlight and to the top of almost every best dressed list this summer. Smart and successful Mrs. Clooney has displayed a wardrobe full of flirty summer dresses, tailored pant suits and chic seperates and has cemented her name as one of the world's most stylishly dressed women. All eyes were on the romantic city of Venice in late September when the couple tied the knot. Of course, we were all desperate to catch a glimpse of the wedding dress of the year but Amal did a fine job of wetting our tastebuds when she emerged for the first time as Mrs. Clooney wearing a long-sleeved Giambattista Valli dress dotted with bright flowers and crafted from a beautiful lace Dress Fabric. Looking classy and radiant this is one of our favourite outfits of the year.

Jennifer Lawrence - with an Academy Award already in the bag, the third instalment of her hugely successful franchise The Hunger Games smashing box office records and title of highest grossing actor of the year 2014 has been a huge success for Hollywood's darling Jennifer who has spent much of this successful year clad in her favourite Dior Couture. The notoriously clumsy star who famously tripped over her gown whilst collecting her statuette in 2013 took another tumble on the 2014 Academy Awards red carpet but managed to do so in perfect style whilst wearing a breathtaking Dior column gown in a beautiful scarlet Dress Fabric. Paired with $3 million dollars worth of incredible Neil Lane jewels, the actress looked like a true Hollywood beauty as she made her way down the red carpet.
