This material is a wonderful heavier weight cloth that has many different uses within your creations, and has proven itself to be a fantastic ingredient in the making of beautiful garments. Double knit jersey is a polyester/viscose/spandex mix fabric, and here at Calico Laine we have a fantastic range of colours available for you to choose from.
Double Knit Jersey is often used as a favourite choice of materila in cooler weather due to its weight and warmth that it can provide to the wearer.  It is perfect for creating jumpers and lighter weight jackets that are extremely warm, yet not too heavy to prevent mobility!
Another great style idea for using Double Knit Jersey is to create a snug and warm winter weight dress or skirt.  It is a fantastic Dressmaking Fabric for creating longer garments such as these,  again because of its stretch and give.
As well as being a well used Dressmaking Fabric, Double Knit Jersey is not only used for full garments. Double Knit Jersey is also a great option for accessories such as scarves. By cutting to size, and using simple stitching - any colour of this fabulous fabric can provide a comfortable, warm and stylish winter accessory! As well as for scarves, Double Knit Jersey is also often used to create larger wraps and shrugs.
