This year, we seem to have been fairly lucky with the weather and have had a few weeks of hot and sunny weather. Now is the time that people usually go on holiday but even if you aren't going away you can still get out your summer clothes and Dressmaking Fabrics to make the most of the heatwave we are enjoying. This summer's must have item for the warm weather is the kimono style cover up. It is taking over from the kaftan that is the usual go to for people in the summer months and is popular amongst celebrities and in the high street shops. A kimono cover up is a floaty jacket style top that can be worn over a swimsuit on the beach or layered over a top and shorts for a casual but stylish day outfit. It can even be worn in the evening over a maxi dress or tailored shorts. Kimono cover ups can be made from a number of Dressmaking Fabrics but is best made from anything that will drape well and is fairly lightweight.
