Today marks the first day of October, and here at Calico Laine we are stocking up on our winter Fabrics to see us through the cold months remaining this year. From flannels and wools to jerseys and tartans, it is incredibly important to stay wrapped up warm when the chilly weather hits, and in both of our stores as well as online through our website, we have already had plenty of customers come and visit us in their search for that perfect winter Fabric to use in their dressmaking projects over the next few months. In the last few weeks, we have added lots of new Fabrics suitable for cold weather to our huge selection - these include flannels, re-stocked customer favourites such as 8 wale corduroy (which also includes new colours such as teal and winters cream), new designs in our fleece Fabrics and much more. One of my personal favourites is the new grey star print fleece, which is 150cm wide and has a composition of 100% polyester. I am keeping it in mind for making some snuggly pyjamas or a new dressing gown, as I have had great success making fleecy clothing before now and would love to make some more. I am also a big fan of our new Fabrics with check designs, as they make up into beautiful, simple dresses that are still eye-catching because of the print. Aside from Fabrics that are guaranteed to keep you warm and cosy over the winter months, we have also been adding to our Christmas fabrics range. We have lots of new prints in traditional colours (including shades such as red, ivory and dark green) and they are already a popular choice among our customers both online and in our stores. These Fabrics are fantastic for creating your very own Christmas decorations such as table runners, place mats and napkins, as well as handcrafted gifts for your loved ones - we suggest garments such as aprons, which would be perfect to wear when cooking Christmas dinner or treats such as cookies and cakes. We have also had a number of customers creating custom stocks, present sacks and even advent calendars using these fabrics! We are planning to keep adding to our winter Fabric ranges, so make sure to keep yourself up to date with our new stock via our Facebook page, where you can also get in contact with us by sending a message, leaving a comment or uploading a photo.
