So after working in a fabulous fabric shop for almost a year, I finally decided to make the most of it. Recently Ive been thinking it is a total waste working day in, day out, surrounded by all these amazing and beautiful dressmaking materials and always wishing I could make to-die-for clothes out of them, so last week I set out to join a dressmaking course (which starts this week). Of course the first decision I had to make was what I wanted to make and then find a pattern to match the idea - that definitely took longer than I ever thought it would! However, flicking through the Vogue catalogue I finally came across a gorgeous dipped hem, long sleeved top and knew this wasn't what I wanted to make, it was what I NEEDED to make. This completely beautiful top sports a metal decorative zip down the middle of the top of the back and makes it extra glam! The only annoying thing with starting my course this week is that I'm using up my holidays so I don't really want to be going into work on my days off. I guess that's why online shopping was invented - for people like me who when they get a little bit of time off they just want to stay curled up all cosy on their couch. Here at Calico Laine we sell a massive variety of dressmaking fabrics, interfacings and lots of haberdashery items, such as buttons, scissors and Zips Online. This makes it extremely easy for people like you and me to buy everything we may ever need to spend the day dressmaking!
