Now wedding season is drawing to a close, we turn our attentions to next year and start to think about what designs and Bridal Fabrics will be gliding their way down the aisle during wedding season 2015. Already, the biggest fashion houses in the world, including Marchesa and Oscar de la Renta have showcased their gorgeous bridal gowns during Bridal Fashion Week so fashion savvy brides are able to plan ahead to make sure their special gown is bang on trend. Of course, an overwhelming number of dresses on display were a wistful shade of white however, certain designers did break away from the mould with more modern, ground breaking designs. Jenny Packham ensured her bridal designs were the talk of the event by taking inspiration from this seasons huge metallic trend with shimmering silver fabrics and all over embellishment. [caption id="attachment_7781" align="alignleft" width="197"]jenny1 Jenny Packham took inspiration from the metallic trend and raised hemlines for her 2015 bridal collection.[/caption] Ever since her launch in 1998, Jenny has made it her mission to revolutionise bridal fashion and is one of the most sought after names in the world of wedding dresses with celebrities including Elizabeth Hurley choosing her adored designs. This years collection is believed to have been inspired by the work of British society photographer, Madame Yovande and included many of Jenny's signature style touches such as the romantic, almost Grecian style silhouette and beautiful beading and embellishment for which Jenny has become renowned. One of the biggest talking points of Jenny's collection was the hemlines. When we think of wedding gowns we automatically think of a long, flowing piece often with a long train and whilst this is a traditional and beautiful style of choice, it is not always a practical option for the modern bride. Jenny Packham showcased a selection of wedding dresses with shorter hemlines, some even above the knee, which were just perfect for a resort wedding or a less formal celebration. Justin's fabric of choice for his spring 2015 collection was a classic lace Bridal Fabric in a variety of silhouettes including classic a-line and sweetheart necklines. Many of the designs on display were vintage inspired creations which work wonderfully for brides of any shape and included a variety of gowns for all price ranges. One of the more daring collections on display was the 2015 range from Pronovias which, like Justin Alexander, was heavily inspired by vintage style lace and feminine floral embroidery. Pronovias designs are often considered to be more risqué than many of their contemporaries and this years collection was certainly no different with a selection of sexy and sultry silhouettes. For their 50th anniversary collection, Pronovias pulled out all the stops with Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova sashaying down the runway in a myriad of daring designs including an embroidered gown with sheer panels, crafted from beautiful lace Bridal Fabric perfect or more fashion forward brides, looking for a contemporary style gown perfect for glamorous venue weddings. The Spanish design house boast clients such as Doutzen Kroes and the late Jade Goody amongst their high profile bridal clients and it is not hard to see why. For the more traditional bride, Anna Maier displayed a selection of time honoured designs with clean, classic silhouettes such as the beautiful simple sheath design interspersed with more dramatic, mermaid style designs. Inspired by the vintage glamour of forties Hollywood, each gown was cut in a classic silhouette for an effortlessly elegant collection. Like many of the other designers on display, Anna Maier chose a variety of Bridal Fabrics including vintage inspired lace and shimmering metallics with intricate embroidery. We carry a selection of beautiful Bridal Fabrics which are just perfect for recreating many of these stunning designs including a fantastic collection of excellent quality lace which has been our best selling wedding dress fabric for a number of years now, with its popularity showing no signs of abating.
