In todays blog I'm going to talk about some of the new fabrics that have just come into stock with us here at Calico Laine. We have had Chiffon for some time now, but the new seasons colours have just come in and they are really stunning. Last week we took a delivery of two new ranges of fabrics including Two Tone Cationic Chiffon and Georgette fabrics. Below I'm going to talk a little about each one and some of their possible uses in dressmaking.
- Chiffon: This is one of our most popular fabrics here at Calico Laine and with good reason. It is a lightweight sheer fabric that flows and drapes extremely well. Add to this the new range of colours that are now available and it makes you want to start on a new creation!!! Our range of Chiffon Fabrics are 115cm wide and made in Japan.
- Two Tone Cationic Chiffon: These new two tone chiffon fabrics are absoluteley stunning. Pictures really don't do these fabrics justice. They are a lightweight sheer fabric that are ideal for summer dressmaking projects. They are 140cm and made in Indonesia.
- Georgette: As with the two tone chiffons, our range of georgettes are brand new in this week. This selection of georgette have a soft handle that drapes and flows very well,making it an ideal fabric for your dressmaking projects. This fabric is 140cm and made in Japan.
