When deciding that you are going to make your own dress or even skirt the next decision is what type of fabric are you going to use? This leads me onto the topic of todays blog. Listed below are some of my favourite Dressmaking Fabrics I have used recently.
  • Duchess Satin: The classic satin fabric that has been used by designers from all fashion houses. Our range of duchess satin is 150cm wide and made in Japan.
  • Chiffon Fabric: Ideal for use when the weather is hot, this sheer fabric is 115cm wide and made in Japan. It is also ideal to use as a a layering fabric for satins and taffeta as well.
  • Taffeta Fabric: A beautiful fabric that can be made in dresses or skirts. Our colour range of this fabric includes both plain and two tone colours.
  • Summer Prints: These fabric are an excellent choice for the summer time. We have new fabric and designs being added weekly at present for summer print. These vary in width from 115cm up to 150cm wide.
