As we bid a fond farewell to the long, balmy days of summer, our thoughts inevitably turn to our winter projects and Dressmaking Fabrics to keep both ourselves and our families warm through the colder months of winter. Although I do love my floaty summer dresses and sandals, winter dressmaking projects present the opportunity to experiment with a whole new selection of fabrics and designs to really put our skill as dressmakers to the test. For me, winter is all about exploring more structured silhouettes and super cute patterns and of course, there are many events during the winter season which give us the chance to undertake more formal projects such as Christmas parties and New Year events. According to leading fashion commentators and the collections we have already seen, this season is all about warding off the cold in sixties silhouettes, printed fabrics and flashes of metallic gold. Here are my top picks from our collection to help you stay bang on trend this season: [caption id="attachment_7833" align="alignleft" width="85"]katemid Kate Middleton wear a classic double breasted trench, our melton Dressmaking Fabric is perfect for this classic style.[/caption] Melton - a staple Dressmaking Fabric year after year, melton is a fashionable and hard wearing fabric which is perfect for warding off the winter chill.
