Here at Calico Laine we sell a variety of threads made by different companies. Threads have different uses so you need to make sure you buy the correct thread for your project. Remember- if your sewing up a garment then it is recommended that you go a shade darker with your threads, or use a totally different colour to jazz it up a little :-)
Gutermann Threads-
Gutermann are the best make for threads as they are an excellent quality and strength.
- Sew-all Threads- Perfect for any day to day uses for sewing either by hand or machine. The colours available range from black, white, ivory, greens, blues, purples, reds, pinks, yellows browns, grey s and many many many more! Our Gutermann Sew-all threads come in 100m reels. There are 100% Polyester but if you want to use an all cotton thread then we have them too :)
- All Cotton Threads- These are only suitable for sewing items made from 100% Cotton. They are useful for sewing up anything, ranging from curtains to clothing, from cushions to jackets. They are available in 100m reels, 250m reels and 400m reels. There are many colours in our Cotton Threads, such as brown, cream, black, white, blue, purple, green and yellow etc.
- Top-stitch Threads- Extremely strong threads and are used to sew up items that will be under a lot of stress or for heavier fabrics such as leather. They are available in a few colours from black to white, blue, green, red and orange. Top-Stitch threads are sold in a 30m reel.
- Hand Quilting- Gutermanns hand quilting range are 100% cotton and are in reels of 200m. The colours range from different shades of blue, green, purple, brown, black and many other colours.
- Sulky Rayon 40- Used for machine embroidery. They have a slight shine to it and looks beautiful when the item is finished. Colours available are pink, blue, silver, black, white and many more, the reels are 200m long.
- Other machine embroidery threads are- Sulky Cotton 30 in 300m reels, Sulky Metallics in 200m reels and Sulky Rayon 500 in 500m reels.
