Now that Christmas and new year has passed we can start looking ahead to some new and exciting events that will be occurring in 2014. This year I am going to a number of weddings and I can't wait to see the dresses! In today's new blog entry I am going to talk through a number of popular Bridal Dressmaking Fabrics. These include: Duchess Satins: A firm favourite for all brides, this heavy satin is perfect for your wedding dress. It is available in a number of beautiful colours and is 150cm wide. Taffeta: At Calico Laine we have seen a real popular trend in taffeta being used for bridal wear. The range of taffetas that we offer are made in Germany and are also 150cm wide. These come a massive choice of different shades and make up extremely well. Satin Back Crepe: At 115cm wide this cloth is slightly narrower that some of the other fabrics that I have mentioned today but it does have other benefits, such as being able to use both side of the fabric. Economy Satins: Although this fabric is listed as economy it can be used to make dresses and can also be used as a luxurious lining. This cloth is 150cm wide and also comes in a variety of different shades. Have you ever used any of our fabrics? Didi you use it for your big day? If so please do share your experiences with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages, we love to see what people use our fabrics for! Until next time, Calico Laine
