[caption id="attachment_6342" align="alignleft" width="300"]ribbonchart Ribbons are a very popular choice of Haberdashery at all times of the year.[/caption] Ribbons at Calico Laine come in so many different colours, widths and designs and are on of our best selling items of Haberdashery. Today I am going to try and cover some of the most popular ribbons that are always quick to fly off the shelves as soon as they arrive in the Haberdashery department and explain some of their intended uses. If you have used any of these ribbons before then please do share your thought and comments with us on our Facebook and Twitter pages - it's great to see how creative our customers can be! So here goes: Plain Ribbons: The first thing I always think about with plain ribbon is satin ribbons. They come in so many different colours, widths and variations, they really are endless! Another very popular plain ribbon is the Berisfords Velvet Ribbon. Over the past couple of years our Haberdashery department has noticed this range of ribbons have really grown in popularity and this can only mean that are getting used more and more. Grosgrain Ribbon is another hugely popular plain ribbon that can be used in tailoring. This also comes in a number of popular colours and different widths. Patterned Ribbons: Over the past year we have expanded this range to include both Berisfords Ribbons and also Bertie's Bows. Both of these brands offer some beautiful ribbons and both are very popular will customer and our Haberdashery staff alike. I particularly like the Polka Dot range of ribbons that Berisfords do. In the past I have used this to decorate wedding cakes, birthday cards and I have even worn them in my hair! Speciality Ribbons: Although not a section on our website, it is alway worth remembering that our Haberdashery department stock a great range of ribbons for a number of popular events that occur throughout the year. These include events like easter, Christmas and halloween to name a few. Ribbons offer a great way of adding that finishing touch to all projects. As I mentioned earlier please do share your ideas and creations with us if you have ever used any of the items I have mentioned today. I hope you have enjoyed my short entry today, Thanks for reading, Calico Laine
