Our range of Taffeta Fabrics that we have available here at Calico Laine are all 150cm wide. They are 100% polyester and are made in Germany. Their main use is for Dressmaking and this is what I'm going to talk about in todays blog. Taffeta Fabrics are a very popular choice for dressmaking. They are ideal to be made into dresses, tops and even skirts.  They have a smooth finish to them and are available in a great selection of different colours. We know offer our range of Taffeta Fabrics in over 30 different shades. One of the great things about taffeta is the colour of the fabrics. They really do catch the light and look amazing when made up. When taffeta is made the two different colours of threads are woven together to give a really strong colour. These are also known as Two Tone Taffeta Fabrics. These particular fabrics are really nice and are classed as high end fabrics, ideal for making into ball gowns and wedding dresses. Here at Calico Laine we offer both two tone taffeta fabrics and the normal taffeta fabrics. Both are suitable for dressmaking and when made up them look fabulous. Of all the colours we stock here, the most popular by far is the Deep Turquoise Taffeta. This is a really rich colour and reminds me of the mediterainian sea. Another very popular colour in the taffeta and in fact across all our range of dressmaking fabrics is the Royal Blue Taffeta. This colour is in fact very popular this season and can be seen a lot in the high street and on TV. Also very popular is the white taffeta. This is used mainly by brides and can also be team up with our japanese made Duchess Satin Fabrics. All of Taffeta Fabrics are made in Germany and we hold excellent stocks of these fabrics ready for immediate despatch.
